• Numerology and the New Year

    Happy New Year loves!

    I wanted to write about the meaning of the new year we have just entered and what 2016 has paved the way for.

    I’ve studied Numerology since the 6th grade when I gave a speech about it and taught my classmates how to find their Life Path number (aka your life purpose). Numerology is the study and interpretation of numbers that was created by the Greek philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras, who combined the mathematical disciplines of the Arabic, Druid, Phoenician, Egyptian and Essene sciences. The belief in numerology is that numbers hold sacred meanings and specific energies that we can use to interpret life events and create clarity and awareness within our own lives. Numerology is the science of vibration that has been studied for thousands of years. The Father of Numbers himself, Pythagoras, opened a school in 6 B.C. where he taught numerology and mathematics.

    Recently I have been drawn back to the power and clarity that numerology can provide us and wanted to share the insight of this new universal year with you that I am sure you may be feeling.    2017 is a Universal 1 Year which symbolizes new beginnings, change and leadership. In numerology there is a 9 year cycle and what we begin now in the Universal 1 Year will influence us for the next 9 years. As an example, think back to 2008 – what you started then and any lessons along the way is what you cleared up in 2016. To jog your memory for our collective events, 2008 was the year the global market place changed forever, we had the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression and it was also the year Obama won the presidential election.2016 was a universal 9 year which is the end of that 9-year cycle and was a time to finish projects, surrender, let go and release what is no longer serving you. 9 is also a very active and fiery number which we all felt collectively.In this first month of the new year we enter the energy of the number 1 which ushers in leadership, new beginnings, change, progress and a bright energy. This year calls upon us to use our unique gifts and purpose in service and step into leadership in our life and world.Are you feeling it?

    This is the year to:

    • unleash your gifts and talents
    • stop hiding and putting off hidden dreams and desires
    • shine your light
    • start something new
    • return to school
    • get more training
    • create the business you have been dreaming of
    • get a new job
    • switch careers
    • start a family
    • buy a new home
    • move
    • create a new project
    • say YES to your passions
    • change directions when you feel guided to
    • collect all of your ideas and begin

    This is also the year that calls upon individuals to be courageous and become leaders. Many of us will feel called to awaken to the leader within and take bold action. There is no other time than now to become the person you are ready and meant to be.

    There is a Universal Year number and a Personal Year number. Your Personal Year number goes into more specifics for your own life and journey but everyone on the planet collectively feels the energy and cycle of the Universal Year number (which is 1 for 2017).

    If you haven’t felt the bright, new energy of the Universal 1 Year, you may be holding something back that has to be released still. This happened to me earlier in the week when I didn’t have clarity on a project. I felt very fuzzy and unclear. The next morning I took a walk and realized there was something I had yet to release from 2016 which was holding me back. Something BIG. Now, I feel poised and ready to welcome in this bright vessel of change that 2017 will prove to be.

    I ask you now:
    What is one seed you desire to nurture and grow this year and this cycle?
    What is one truth you will stand for in 2017?
    Where and how do you want to SHINE this year?

    This IS your year to shine and to do the work to become empowered leader that you are.
